The event takes place at John Smith's Bay and is organized for endurance sports participants. An early start is available for those expecting longer finish times, but early starters finishing under a set time will not be scored. Registration is online only, with number pick-up at the start. Proceeds support the charity Friends of Hospice, sponsored by Hannover Re. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in several age categories. The event will proceed regardless of weather, and water stations provide self-serve water and sports drinks for participants.
