About the race

The Gyeonggi Suwon Half Marathon is a prominent international race hosted annually in Suwon, South Korea. Relaunched in 2023 after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the event returned with renewed energy, drawing over 5,000 runners, from elite professionals to recreational runners of all ages. Organized by Gyeonggi News and the Korea Track & Field League, the event features multiple race formats including the half marathon, 10K, 5K, and children’s categories. Held at Suwon Sports Complex, the race kicks off with elite-level excitement, followed by mass participation waves in a relaxed, inclusive format. In recent editions, elite athletes from Kenya, Mongolia, and South Korea have competed, with Korean runner Park Min Ho setting a new course record of 1:03:16 in 2023. The event also incorporates community features such as CPR education by the Korea Red Cross, sponsor booths, and public engagement zones—making it more than just a race.
