SQUID PRO QUO presents a trio of open water swims designed for athletes eager to build distance early in the season. Tackle a one-mile swim at Grotto Bay beach, challenge yourself with a 5km course at Shark Hole in Harrington Sound, and push your limits with a 1500m night swim from Trunk Island to the Aquarium—where post-race recovery includes food and drinks in the Aquarium’s main hall. Choose to complete any or all of the distances, with an emphasis on covering ground and personal fitness rather than just clocking times—you’re welcome to self-time with your watch if performance tracking is important. Wetsuits are welcome, catering to your training preferences, and water temperatures around 20°C (68°F) should offer comfortable conditions for focused athletes, just ahead of the peak boating season. Each participant receives an event t-shirt, a tow float (required for the night swim, optional otherwise), and dinner to refuel after the final challenge.
